About Lisa

I fell in love with helping people live healthier lives.

For more than 20 years, Lisa Pettis has made fitness personal, adaptable, and grounded in listening.

The beginning

The work clicked right away.

I got into to training while I was in school and saw an ad for a local fitness club for a personal trainer. I interviewed and got the job and was immediately in love with the work I was doing; helping people to be healthy and live longer more productive lives.

That purpose still guides the work today. Lisa does not start with a trend or a punishing template. She starts with the person, what they need, and what they enjoy.

“I listen to the client and what they need and want, not what I want to teach them.”
The Study

Teaching taught me to pay attention.

Lisa is a parent and homeschooled all three of her children through their junior years in high school, when they graduated. That long season of teaching reinforced what good coaching requires: watch the person learning, explain things more than one way, and adjust the route without giving up on the goal.

She brings that same patience to training. A workout should respond to the person doing it.

Outside the gym

Serious face. Jokester underneath.

Most people see Lisa as serious or mean, but she calls herself “a jokester of all jokesters.” She loves making people laugh, reading, learning, and spending time with books that deepen her faith and curiosity.

Training with Lisa has room for focus, conversation, and a good laugh. The work matters. So does feeling comfortable with the person beside you.

“I will create a program that you will enjoy; based on your likes and we will have a great time together because I am warm, easy to talk to and down to earth (that's what people tell me).”
